Briquettes

Most displaced people live in regions facing environmental challenges- including desertification, long droughts, major earthquakes and deforestation, with wood and other low-tech cooking fuels being scarce. To address this issue and support sustainability, we are committed to the use of biomass briquettes as a viable alternative fuel source to power our stoves.

These briquettes are a processed fuel that can be burned as an alternative to wood or charcoal in cooking stoves. As a result, deforestation can be reduced significantly. Also, the positive impact on the lives of women is significant. Using briquettes significantly reduces the time women spend collecting fire wood, an activity which often puts their personal safety at risk.

Why Briquettes

  1. Briquettes help to conserve the Environment
  2. Burn steadily for longer hours
  3. Sources of income to refugees through employement
  4. Briquettes are low cost hence save household income
  5. they are smoke free
  6. Briquetttes reduce the risk of women being raped in the process of collecting firewood

Stoves

We provide energy-efficient domestic and institutional stoves to serve critical mass needs that include food security and clean drinking water in both rural and urban settings. For cases where domestic stoves are not adequate like schools, colleges, hospitals, prisons, factories and, perhaps, large temporary settlements such as refugee camps or sites of religious festivals where a large number of people may need feeding at any one time, institutional stoves are the solution.
